We haven't set any dates yet but Straworks hopes to run 1 - 2 weekend workshops in 2011.
These 2-day workshop are a thorough, hands-on, introduction to straw bale construction. Friday
evening we get started with a presentation on straw bale building and a slide show. Saturday we do bale work on one
of Straworks current projects including the stacking, stuffing, installing lath over wood, pinning and prepping the bales
for plaster. We like to cut corners (of the bales that is!) and make beautiful curved window wells. We also carve niches,
install light tubes made of glass bottles and a moisture meter in the bale walls. Sunday, we fire-up the mortar mixer and
spray on plaster.
